Only 46 days of the #marchtomainnet and we can feel the excitement in the community continue to rise. Let’s have a look at the past month in this community update.
zkSync 1.0
The zSync 1.0 testnet was migrated from Rinkeby to Goerli. You can find all the information regarding environments in our zkSync 1.0 documentation. Due to the lack of activity support for the zkSync 1.0, Sepolia testnet has been removed. All zkSync 1.0 testnet activity will continue on the Goerli testnet.
zkSync 2.0
In July, we shared a detailed roadmap of zkSync 2.0’s path to Mainnet. In August, we completed our next milestone: Dynamic Fees. Read our blog post about it here.

August Regenesis TL;DR
August was a busy month with not only the regenesis but with updates to our documentation. We have added tutorials for building a custom paymaster and migrating to the testnet paymaster, amongst other updates. We continue to make changes to our documentation to provide a more efficient developer experience. We welcome feedback from the community on how we can improve the experience. Please share feedback in our #dev-feedback channel on our Discord or via a GitHub Pull Request.
Are you missing a dependency in order to build on zkSync? If so, we created a new channel in our Discord – #dependency-poll – for developers to vote on their most important dependency to successfully build their projects. We have also started our #1000truedevs posts on Twitter so developers can vote for their must-have tools and integrations. (Link)
Ecosystem
Our ecosystem is growing, and growing fast!
#Jointhemission Series
In August, we kicked off a Twitter series called #jointhemission to highlight the ecosystem on a weekly basis. You can catch up with this August’s featured projects through the links below.
Ecosystem Highlight Articles
We also started publishing regular articles on ecosystem projects to dive into their use cases for zkSync and why they chose to build on the platform. August included Argent, Banxa, and Juno.
Community
Many local branches of the zkSync community are emerging, and we love it! They are run by active community members that are working on creating their own zkSync communities. We are thrilled to see the community come together and feel empowered to organize these groups. So far we’ve seen communities form in the following countries:
-
Vietnam
-
Russia
-
Ukrainian
-
China
-
Japan
-
Indonesia
Understandably these are not the only communities that have formed;f you have a zkSync community, let us know. We always enjoy meeting new community members and hearing about groups forming within the zkSync community.
Data Dive
????
In last month’s update, we shared a graph and asked you what you thought it represented. So, what was last month’s graph about? The purple line shows the number of messages per day on Discord and the green line represents the cumulative number of messages. In our Discord, we peaked at 2000+ messages a day and reached a total of +140k messages in English.
