NFT Highlights
Phantom Adds Polygon Support to Bring Unified Web3 Experience
Phantom, a leading non-custodial crypto wallet, is adding browser, iOS, and Android support for the Polygon network bringing their multichain future a step closer to reality.
Phantom is now launching on Polygon and Ethereum to provide a broad swath of users across Web3 with a simple, secure, and seamless wallet experience for interacting with NFTs and decentralized applications. The private multi-chain beta is set to go live in the coming weeks, with a public launch soon after.
HellCats Partner With Polygon Studios Following Migration From Terra
HellCats, a non-fungible token (NFT) collection and a community of self-described rag-tag degenerate outcasts, is partnering with Polygon Studios after a successful migration from the Terra blockchain.
The project, founded by Taylor Arnold and Dimitri Panotis, consists of 2,500 HellCats and 5,000 HellHounds digital collectibles. The NFTs double as a digital persona and a membership in the exclusive online hangout called The Club.
HellCats joins notable Terra projects like OnePlanet, Derby Stars and GameSwift in finding a new home on Polygon, where they can enjoy low gas fees, fast transaction speeds and minimal carbon footprint. The Polygon network hosts tens of thousands of decentralized apps, including Aave, Uniswap, and OpenSea, and serves as an entrypoint to Web3 for global companies like Meta, Robinhood, Adobe, and Stripe.
ETHVietnam Spotlights Ethereum’s Viet Community
ETHVietnam, an inaugural event that established the country as a thriving hub of Ethereum and blockchain innovation, wrapped up last week and Polygon was there to support the amazing Viet developer community.
With over 1,800 attendees, more than 250 hacker teams and 200 plus speakers, moderators and experts, the event was a smashing success. In case you missed it, here’s Polygon’s rundown of why ETHVietnam was the week’s biggest story.
Polygon’s developer relations APAC lead Kevin Ang took part in a panel discussion about the importance of Layer-2 solutions. Ang outlined how Polygon prioritizes the needs of builders and developers and gives them the freedom and tools they need to create in Web3. He also encouraged developers to check out Polygon zkEVM testnet, the next big thing in Ethereum scaling.
Polygon Presents: Lessons Learned in Zero Knowledge
Earlier this month, Polygon participated in a series of dev-focused discussions about Polygon zkEVM, the value of source-available and auditable Zero Knowledge (ZK) proving systems, as well as the different approaches to implementing the cryptographic concepts underlying ZK-powered tooling. Joining Polygon was the team from Scroll, whose ZK Rollup is currently in pre-alpha testnet, as well as members of the Ethereum Foundation.
The accelerated progress of performant ZK proving systems is testament to the collaborative nature of the field. Over the last 18 months, the top-tier cryptographers and research mathematicians building ZK tools have worked together to achieve many successes (and some failures). With Ethereum’s ZK-powered future in sight, Polygon’s Hermez team is making available all they’ve learned launching the Polygon zkEVM.
The entire series is being recorded, and so stay tuned to the Polygon Blog for the highlights (and lowlights) of building the zkEVM.
